The Rotary Club of Jomtien-Pattaya’s 7th Annual Cross Bay Swim will take place on Sunday, 21st November. Swimmers can choose from the 3.5km course from the Sea Rescue center at Bali Hai to the Dusit Thani Resort, Pattaya Beach or the 1km course from the Hard Rock Hotel. The Lighthouse Club Pattaya is holding a “Movers & Shakers 2010” charity networking evening on Friday, December 3 at the Centara Grand Mirage Pattaya - an event jointly-promoted with the British Chamber of Commerce and AustCham. Beginning at 6 p.m. with a welcome reception and live music entertainment, the evening will progress with a ballroom party and food plus an exciting fashion show, more networking and tunes into the wee hours. The PILC Annual Gala Ball will be held on Saturday November 20 in the Orchid Ballroom at the Amari Resort and Tower on Pattaya Beach Road. The theme this year is “Hollywood meets Bollywood” and the event promises to be another spectacular evening with superb food, free-flowing wine plus some wonderful door prizes. The British Chamber of Commerce (BCCT) in cooperation with Horseshoe Point, Siam Country Club, Thai Polo Club, and Heineken invite you to a networking evening on the Eastern Seaboard on Friday November 19 from 6.30 p.m. at Horseshoe Point. Clubs and Associations

The next meeting of Pattaya City Expats Club (PCEC) will be on Sunday, November 21. Everyone is warmly welcome. The speaker this week will be Dr. Wirote Jiamsiri, M.D., a neuro-surgeon from Phyathai Hospital Sriracha. His topic will be about treatment of head injuries. The Club meets every Sunday morning at the Tavern by the Sea Restaurant located on the north end of Beach Road (part of the Amari Orchid Resort). The program starts as usual at 10:30 a.m. with a buffet breakfast available from 9 to 11 a.m. Each week the PCEC usually has an interesting speaker to talk on various subjects of interest in an informal setting. The program is followed by the ever lively and often humorous Open Forum where questions are asked and answers given about living in Pattaya as well as an update on events in and around Pattaya. For the past 28 years the Samaritans of Thailand have been providing confidential crisis intervention services over the telephone. The English-speaking unit, Samaritans English Help Line operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide support to the expatriate community. English-speaking staff, trained in crisis intervention will provide active, non-judgmental and empathetic listening services on the phone.
