Announcements
The British Consulate in Pattaya will be closed
due to staff leave from 8-19 November. During this time, the Consular
Section of the British Embassy in Bangkok will handle consular enquiries
(Tel: 02 305 8252) and requests for notarial services (Tel: 02 305 8351).
For notarial services, the Bangkok staff will be able to advise you on the
best way to submit your documents, based on your circumstances. The
Consulate in Pattaya will reopen for normal business on Monday 22 November.
Events
The PILC Annual Gala Ball will be held on Saturday
November 20 in the Orchid Ballroom at the Amari Resort and Tower on
Pattaya Beach Road. The theme this year is “Hollywood meets Bollywood” and
the event promises to be another spectacular evening with superb food,
free-flowing wine plus some wonderful door prizes. The entertainment is
being provided by top class DJ, “Domingo” from Malaysia … plus live music
with “Band of Smiles”, a Pattaya based group of mixed nationalities. Tickets
are now selling for 2900 baht each (tables of 8 or 10, singles or couples

The British Chamber of Commerce (BCCT) in
cooperation with Horseshoe Point, Siam Country Club, Thai Polo Club, and
Heineken invite you to a networking evening on the Eastern Seaboard on
Friday November 19 from 6.30 p.m. at Horseshoe Point. Horseshoe Point
and co-sponsors will be providing beverages and snacks on a first-come,
first-served basis from 6.30 p.m. - 9 p.m. Anyone arriving before 6.30 p.m.
or staying after 9 p.m. must cover their own F&B costs. Entry is free of

Clubs and Associations
The next meeting of Pattaya City Expats Club (PCEC) will
be on Sunday, November 14. Everyone is warmly welcome. This week, member
David Garmaise will be entertaining everyone with his topic “A tour of
Jewish humor, with a few jokes thrown in along the way.” The Club meets
every Sunday morning at the Tavern by the Sea Restaurant located on the
north end of Beach Road (part of the Amari Orchid Resort). The program
starts as usual at 10:30 a.m. with a buffet breakfast available from 9 to 11
a.m. Each week the PCEC usually has an interesting speaker to talk on
various subjects of interest in an informal setting. The program is followed
by the ever lively and often humorous Open Forum where questions are asked
and answers given about living in Pattaya as well as an update on events in

For the past 28 years the Samaritans of Thailand
have been providing confidential crisis intervention services over the
telephone. The English-speaking unit, Samaritans English Help Line operates
24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide support to the expatriate
community. English-speaking staff, trained in crisis intervention will
provide active, non-judgmental and empathetic listening services on the
phone. All calls will be handled on an anonymous basis and are free of

The Rotary Club Pattaya Marina meets every Friday
at 7.00 p.m. at the Pullman Aisawan, Wongamat Beach, between Soi 16 and 18
