Events
Charity Walk: A group of 30-40 visiting Irish walkers are
staging a 4 day charity walk in Pattaya to help raise funds to send sick and
terminally ill children from hospitals in Ireland to Lapland to meet Santa
Claus. Any interested local walkers are welcome to join the event which
begins on Sunday, August 29 at the Montien Hotel in Pattaya at 10 p.m. A
different 12.5km walk will be held on each of the 4 days starting from the

The Lighthouse Club Pattaya (LHC) in conjunction with the
British Chamber of Commerce Thailand (BCCT) will be holding a joint
networking evening on Friday August 27 at the new Holiday Inn Hotel
(Havana-Bar) on Pattaya Beach Road. The event runs from 6 p.m. until 8:30
p.m. and will continue into a great club-night, starting at 8:30 p.m. till
late, hosted by sponsors Town & Country Property. During the network-event
food and drinks will be provided FREE of any charge as long as stock lasts!
For the club-night there will be special promotions all night long. Entrance

The Jesters Annual Charity Fair will take place at
the Diana Garden Resort & Driving Range on Sunday Sept. 12 with
competitions for the kids, bouncy castles, shows and entertainment courtesy
of local schools, clowns, a circus workshop, face painting, live music, arts
and crafts, Thai and European food stalls and the beer stall which sells
beer donated by local businesses. All the proceeds go to aid the Jesters

The Pattaya International Ladies Club (PILC) will be
holding their annual Holiday Bazaar at the Royal Cliff Beach Resort Pattaya
on Saturday, October 2. This event gives PILC members and the public a
chance to meet up, either sell or buy an array of goods from silverware, to
jewelry, to local handicrafts, to food and wine, and to help the PILC

Clubs and Associations
The next meeting of Pattaya City Expats Club (PCEC)
will be on Sunday, August 29. Everyone is warmly welcome. The Club meets
every Sunday morning at The Tavern by the Sea (formerly Henry J. Bean’s)
located on the north end of Beach Road (part of the Amari Orchid Resort).
The program starts as usual at 10:30 a.m. with a buffet breakfast available
from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Each week the PCEC usually has an interesting
speaker to talk on various subjects of interest in an informal setting. This
week’s scheduled speaker will be Chris Harmon, formerly police officer in
the UK. He will be offering guidance on how to promote safety and at the
same time enjoy the adventures and challenges that a fun filled life has to
offer. This program is followed by the ever lively and often humorous Open
Forum where questions are asked and answers given about living in Pattaya as
well as an update on events in and around Pattaya. A full report appears

For the past 28 years the Samaritans of Thailand
have been providing confidential crisis intervention services over the
telephone. The English-speaking unit, Samaritans English Help Line operates
24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide support to the expatriate
community. English-speaking staff, trained in crisis intervention will
provide active, non-judgmental and empathetic listening services on the
phone. All calls will be handled on an anonymous basis and are free of

The French speaking Rotary Club Pattaya Marina
