The Pattaya Sports Club (PSC) will be holding their Annual Summer Party 2010 at the Town in Town Hotel, on Wednesday July 14. The cost of tickets will be free to members (1 per member only) and 700 baht to guests of members (1 per member only). Children under 16 years old can gain admission for 500 baht. Please note that children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by at least one parent/guardian. Tickets can only be purchased from the PSC clubhouse, and proof of membership is required. Please show your current membership card. All the food, the drinks and entertainment are free all evening. Your entrance ticket stub will also be entered into the lucky draw & Irish bingo session at no extra charge. There will many superb prizes. Dress code is smart casual and should be strictly adhered to.

On the occasion of Her Majesty the Queen’s birthday, the Amari Orchid Pattaya, in conjunction with the Royal Project and Central Center Pattaya, proudly present the world’s longest Passion Fruit Sacher Cake at 78 meters (fresh passion fruit from the Royal Project). This event will be held at Central Center Pattaya, from August 11-15. The Pattaya International Ladies Club (PILC) will be holding their annual Holiday Bazaar at the Royal Cliff Beach Resort Pattaya on Saturday, October 2. This event gives PILC members and the public a chance to meet up, either sell or buy an array of goods from silverware, to jewelry, to local handicrafts, to food and wine, and to help the PILC collect money to support the local community. The next meeting of Pattaya City Expats Club (PCEC) will be on Sunday, July 11. Everyone is warmly welcome. The Club meets every Sunday morning at The Tavern by the Sea (formerly Henry J. Bean’s) located on the north end of Beach Road (part of the Amari Orchid Resort). The program starts as usual at 10:30 a.m. with a buffet breakfast available from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Each week the PCEC usually has an interesting speaker to talk on various subjects of interest in an informal setting. This week’s scheduled speaker will be Tony Martin who spent 40 years with UK Immigration. He will be explaining how you can identify counterfeit currency and passports. The program is followed by the ever lively and often humorous Open Forum where questions are asked and answers given about living in Pattaya as well as an update on events in and around Pattaya. For the past 28 years the Samaritans of Thailand have been providing confidential crisis intervention services over the telephone. The English-speaking unit, Samaritans English Help Line operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide support to the expatriate community. English-speaking staff, trained in crisis intervention will provide active, non-judgmental and empathetic listening services on the phone.
