The management and staff of the Royal Cliff Beach Resort raise a glass of Champagne to celebrate the unprecedented achievement of being awarded five “Best of Awards of Excellence 2009” by New York’s Wine Spectator for the second successive year. The resort previously held the record in 2008, being the first institution anywhere in the world to have been awarded five awards in one calendar year. They have now surpassed this remarkable achievement with another series of the prestigious awards.


 

Management of the Dusit Thani Pattaya welcomed participants of a Fam Trip comprised of Chinese travel operators and media. The trip, organized by Thai Airways International (Shanghai), was aimed at boosting Chinese inbound to Pattaya as the resort city promotes its newly re-branded look with the introduction of new tourist attractions and various sports activities including golf. The group was composed of travel operators and Chinese media.


 

A cocktail reception was held to celebrate the fifth anniversary of 94° Coffee Shop recently. In attendance were (L-R) Bruce Hoppe, Vice President Asia Operations of Emerson Electric; Barry Wilson-Singer; Thanapat Hengtrakul, Assistant MD of Sophon Cable; Rattanachai Sutidechanai, Pattaya City councilor; Prakong Boontham, MD of A&B Coffee Co., Ltd.; and Chanyuth Hengtrakul, former MP for Chonburi.


Early this month Dhanwanthhrie Goonetilleke (centre), Regional General Manager Far East and Australia of Air Astana, along with Pornlert Kanjananiyot (3rd right), Sales Manager, Passenger and Cargo visited Massic Travel, the leading and friendliest travel and air ticketing agent in Pattaya under the professional management of managing director Marlowe Malhotra (left) and his professional team Vicky (2nd right) and Vikrom Malhotra (right). Fruitful discussions were held and the outcome was optimistic, with both parties agreeing that the future of the travel business is bright. Peter Malhotra (left) and Primprao Somsri (4th right) of the Pattaya Mail also joined in the discussions.


Pierre Andre Pelletier (2nd left), GM of the Amari Watergate Hotel and Paiboon Thamruangrit (right), the artist, present funds raised at the recently held art exhibition entitled “Luangprabang, unforgettable destination” to Sasithorn Amornbandit, representative of “Sanjorn Sorn Silpa” project. This project, under the care of the hotel, teaches art to underprivileged Thai children in rural areas.


Major General Timothy J. Lowenberg (centre), the Adjutant General of the State of Washington, celebrated his birthday at Pattaya Marriott Resort & Spa’s Club Lounge recently. The resort’s General Manager Somsak Tanruengsri and members of his hospitable team dropped by to surprise their most distinguished guest, wishing him a very happy birthday and pleasant stay at the luxury resort.
