Events

Halloween-night celebration themed ‘Thriller Night’ is being organized at the Hotel Vista Pattaya, on October 31 with music by up-and-coming master DJ, DJ Butang featuring “ghoulish” remixes of Michael Jackson hits. BAMBI Pattaya Inaugural Coffee Morning: BAMBI (Bangkok Mothers and Babies International) will hold their first Pattaya Playgroup Coffee Morning at the Holiday Inn on Beach Road, Soi 1, Pattaya on Monday, October 26 at 10 a.m.  BAMBI is a mother-led organization that provides information, support and companionship for pregnant woman, parents of small babies and children.  Prospective members can sign up for BAMBI membership that day. Entrance donation of 150 THB members, 250 THB non-members. A joint BCCT/AMCHAM Eastern Seaboard Dinner will be held on Friday October 30 from 6.30 p.m. (45 minutes networking sponsored by the Amari Orchid Resort & Tower). Dinner at 7.15 p.m. at Aranda, Amari Orchid Resort & Tower, Pattaya. The event will feature a talk by David Nardone, president & CEO of Hemaraj Land and Development Public Co., Ltd. on the topic of “Industrial Investment Climate.” The cost including international buffet dinner, soft drinks and wine is THB 900 per person including VAT for BCCT & AMCHAM members. Pattaya Players will once again be hosting their annual Horseshoe Point Halloween extravaganza on Saturday, October 31, 2009, this year entitled Spooks, Spirits and Specters.  Unsuspecting spectators will be taken on a 30 minute guided walking tour of Horseshoe Point’s breathtaking Three Kingdoms Park, highlighting ghost stories from all around the world.  In addition to the Ghost Tour there will be many activities, rides and games for children and adults of all ages to enjoy.  Fair-style food and drinks will be on sale all night long.  Taking place from 6 p.m. onwards, tickets will be sold on the night of the event only.  The admission price will be 200 baht per person and will come with 10 complimentary tickets for individual rides.  For more information visit www.pattayaplayers.org.

Clubs & Associations

The next Pattaya City Expats Club (PCEC) meeting will be on Sunday, Oct. 25 and everyone is warmly welcome to attend.  The club meets every Sunday morning at Henry J. For the past 28 years the Samaritans of Thailand have been providing confidential crisis intervention services over the telephone. The English-speaking unit, Samaritans English Help Line operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide support to the expatriate community. English-speaking staff, trained in crisis intervention will provide active, non-judgmental and empathetic listening services on the phone.
