Minister of Foreign Affairs Kasit Piromya has announced that the Pattaya Exhibition and Convention Hall (PEACH), a facility of the Royal Cliff Beach Resort is the new chosen venue for the 14th ASEAN Related Summit.
The summit, which will take place from April 10 - 12, will comprise of leaders of 10 ASEAN countries and their counterparts from 6 other countries, plus the ASEAN secretariat-general. Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva will represent Thailand. Thousands of delegates and media representatives from 16 countries will participate in this summit.
PEACH is a world-class, multipurpose stand alone convention centre that accommodates up to 8,000 delegates in theatre style seating under one column-free roof. In addition the ‘award winning’ Royal Cliff Beach Resort is a self-contained resort comprising four five-star hotels with 1,090 luxuriously appointed rooms and suites.

On March 12 at the pier in Chonburi, Veerasak Kowsurat, TAT chairman, welcomed the Queen Mary 2 and its passengers and crew for its first visit to our shores.
The huge floating hotel had sailed from Hong Kong on a cruise that will take it around the world. It stopped for only a day at Laem Chabang Port. On their shore leave the passengers had a chance to visit Nong Nooch Tropical Garden, Sriracha Tiger Zoo and Pattaya Beach.
The Queen Mary 2 is the largest British ship and the most luxurious of the Cunard Line. It is the world’s largest cruise ship with a gross tonnage of 151,400 tons, built at the cost of $US 800 million, and can carry 2,600 passengers and 1,300 crew members.

Next stop is Singapore, then India, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Egypt, Greece, Italy, France, Spain and the UK. It will then travel back to the US on April 14 having been around the world in 90 days.
As one would expect, QM2’s facilities include luxurious accommodation, international restaurants and bars, swimming pools, a casino, a ballroom, a theatre, a gym, a book shop, a souvenir shop, a beauty salon, computer and internet services, and more. A trip costs approximately 700,000 baht.
Veerasak said TAT intends to expand the tourism market to include cruise ships and their rich passengers.
