Thai Hotels Association-Eastern Chapter discusses future projects for Pattaya City

The Thai Hotels Association-Eastern Chapter (THA-E) held its monthly meeting 31 July at the Flavio Room of The Zign Hotel in north Pattaya. Association president Chatchawal Supachayanont presided over the meeting and announced the holding of the “Hotels Meet Local Agents, Russian and Eastern Europe Market” conference at Dusit Thani Pattaya on 1 August, an event organized by THA, Association of Thai Travel Agents (ATTA) and the Tourism Authority of Thailand.

During the meeting, guest speaker Ittiphol Khunplome, mayor of Pattaya City spoke of a number of issues about the city’s development including efficient traffic control, improved water supply, and better access to transportation in and around the city, among others.
Other matters discussed included: THA-E Sports Day 2008 activities scheduled in mid August, support to Music Copyright laws, and preparations for the upcoming Bartender Contest to be held at Dusit Thani Pattaya.

At a recent Skål Intl Bangkok luncheon, Thailand’s youngest Skål members had the opportunity to meet with the Tourism Authority of Thailand Governor, Phornsiri Manoharn.
Young Skål is a category of Skål International specially for young travel and tourism professionals or students who have been working or training in the industry for at least two years and are aged 20-29 years.
Skål international is the world’s largest association of travel and tourism professionals with 22,000 members in 500 clubs in 90 countries. Skål Intl Bangkok meets monthly on the second Tuesday of each month. The club was founded in 1956 and has 102 members.
