21-year-old student Nong Noeng is named Miss Tiffany Universe 2008

A 21-year-old student from Dhurakij Pundit University was named
Miss Tiffany Universe 2008 on May 30, coming first amongst the 30
finalists in a show that was televised nationally from Tiffany’s
Theater.
Nong Noeng, formally known as Kangsadarn Wongdusadeekul, received
100,000 baht in cash, a Honda Jazz car, and gifts from sponsors that
totaled more than 1 million baht in value.
The Miss Tiffany Universe beauty pageant, the 11th to be held, was
organized by Tiffany’s in cooperation with the Tourism Authority of
Thailand Central Region 3 and Pattaya City.
Earlier heats had reduced the number of finalists to 30, and as the
evening proceeded these were reduced still further to 10, and then the
final top three places were announced.
Each selection round was alternated with performances from the Tiffany
show, with the band OK Q from Sound Good Records providing a music
performance.
The winner of Miss Tiffany’s Universe 2008 was contestant number 10,
Kangsadarn Wongdusadeekul, or Nong Noeng. Runner up was number 4,
Doolkamon Kontun, a 20-year-old student from Phuket Ratchaphat
University who received 80,000 baht. In third place was contestant
number 13, Pailin Denfhanapapol, a 19-year-old student also from
Dhurakij Pundit University, who received 50,000 baht.
Pailin also won the Miss Photogenic award, which carried a prize of
20,000 baht. Miss Congeniality was contestant number 27, Peyaporn
Vanichakornsakun, a 25-year-old bachelor degree student from
Ramkhamhaeng University. The Best Costume award went to contestant
number 22, Pamika Siripattarakamon, a 24-year-old student from Utaradit
Ratchaphat University. Each of these titles carried prize money of
20,000 baht.
Ripley’s Most Beautiful Wo-man was contestant number 5, Panadda
Pipatrattanakul, a 25-year-old businessperson, who received 30,000 baht
and a certificate from Ripley’s Believe It Or Not Museum.
Nong Noeng said that the Miss Tiffany Universe pageant brought great
honor to transsexuals throughout Thailand, and that he would do his
utmost during the coming year to perform his duties to the best of his
abilities for the benefit of transsexuals everywhere, and for society.
Semester ends in style
at ISE Proms

International School Eastern held its ISE Proms Night 2008 at the Amari
Orchid Resort and Tower on May 23, an annual event held just before the
ending of the semester to say goodbye to those students who have completed
class 6.

prom king and queen, Jeong Bin Rew and Tashina Cedolin, share their first

This year, 19 students were leaving, and more than 80 students from
secondary education classes 3 to 6 attended. Everyone dined in style before
the “Cinderella” dance, in which all the female students left one of their
shoes in the middle of the dance floor, and the male students chose the one
they liked, taking it to the owner to be their dance partner.
As the evening drew to a close, the King and Queen of the Prom were
announced. The King was Jeong Bin Rew, and the Queen was Tashina Cedolin.
There was also the Prom Prince, Josh Jaruis, and Prom Princess Nam Bunnag.
After choosing which shoe he
liked best, “Prince Charming”
returns the shoe to its rightful owner.

Pattaya mayor bowls with
Asian U MBA students and friends

On Sunday May 25, Mayor Itthipol Khunplome took time out from his
busy schedule to open Asian University’s MBA students’ Charity Bowling
Tournament.
Does
the Mayor get a strike?
The MBA students were joined by undergraduates, alumni, staff, friends and
families for a bowling competition. A total of over two hundred people
participated, and they were honoured to have Mayor Itthipol to give a brief
address and to cut the ribbon to open the event.
The money raised is to be used to help children in the remote Mae Hong Song
Province, who are normally deprived of education and other developmental
activities, and to provide participation in the Chevron Royal Project for
long distance learning / satellite learning.
The students were assisted by the university staff to organise the event at
the blu O rhythm & bowl, at the Major Cineplex in Pattaya.
The winning team was made up of one part time MBA student and his friends
from Mitsubishi.
