Chuan Leekpai (center), former prime minister recently presided over the opening ceremony of an art exhibition titled ‘The Memory of Trang’ by Theerayuth Jeenpracha (3rd right), organized at the 3rd floor exhibition area of the Amari Watergate Hotel. Part of the proceeds will be donated to support the Foundation for Education and Social for disadvantaged children in Trang Province. President Andrew J. Wood of Skål International Bangkok recently invited all tourism industry executives to join a Skål networking lunch at the Dusit Thani Hotel. Peter Semone, senior advisor for the Mekong Tourism Office was the guest speaker on the topic of ‘Visit Mekong Year: Planned Marketing Initiatives’. (L to R) Robert J. The longest serving employee was rewarded for 20 years of diligent service.


Woodlands Hotel & Resort’s staff and management, led by general manager, Stephan Bringer recently visited the Ban Jing Jai orphanage in Nongprue, which is home to 55 children whose parents are either deceased or unable to care for them. A lunch and games organized by Woodlands took place plus consumer goods, food and toys collected among the hotel’s employees were being donated to the all the kids.


Dr. Sumate Yamnoon, secretary-general of the Commission on Higher Education, hosted a welcome dinner at Siam City Hotel, Bangkok for the delegation of Bavarian Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS) under the program ‘Bavarian-Thai Academic Cooperation Centre (BTACC)’. The delegation comprises 12 presidents and 3 vice presidents of the German universities, led by Dr. Chumpol Thiengtham, vice chairman KMUTNB Council, King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB).
