Siam City Hotel’s new meeting facility taps MICE market

The Siam City Hotel, Bangkok’s new meeting facility, which opened August 1, 2006, targets international MICE markets with up-to-the-minute contemporary Thai décor and advanced audio-visual and IT installations. The new 700sqm Kamolthip Ballroom is designed and created especially for small to mid-size meetings, incentives and elegant events.
Group Director of Sales and Marketing, Songsri Tanurattanabutr. and her team will introduce the hotel’s new facility at the upcoming 14th IT & CMA and 9th CTW in Pattaya, Thailand, during which the hotel will also co-host a dinner party and concert with TTGAsia titled, “Spectacular Siam.” The party will take place at its sister property, the Siam Bayshore Resort & Spa in Pattaya, on October, 11, 2006, and will showcase exciting Big Band Jazz entertainment..
Optimistic that the hotel will meet with high demand during IT & CMA, Ms. Tanurattanabutr says, “We expect our corporate meetings and incentives segment to increase by 20% next year, through major Asian feeder markets of Singapore and Malaysia.”
The hotel’s corporate meetings and incentives segments already occupy 20% of overall occupancy, which runs at an average of 80% annually. “We are in the perfect position to answer to organizers’ demands for a taste of Thai culture, combined with modern technology. We have the unique resources as an independent Thai property where cultural values are part of our positioning, and we combine it with modern IT conveniences,” says Ms. Tanurattanabutr.
Siam City Hotel’s new Kamolthip Ballroom, located on the 2nd floor, will have the ability to generate a range of exciting theme parties. The ballroom will be able to accommodate 600 guests for dinners and 800 for meetings. Smaller gatherings are designated in 10 additional meeting rooms, located in the vicinity of the ballroom, or in the adjacent colonial-style 2-level “Garden Pavilion” with outdoor garden areas.

King Power appoints Dr. Valerie McKenzie as Ambassador

Dr. Valerie McKenzie of “Morning Talk” fame has been appointed by King Power International Group as their Diplomatic & Corporate Ambassador.
