Oh Boy, a great visit to Pattaya for pop singer and 20 lucky fans

Charity Club of Pattaya celebrates 2nd Birthday

Kevin and Som Fisher (right) of Cranes and equipment Asia became the latest Platinum Sponsor of the Charity Gala Dinner to be held at the Dusit Resort Saturday Sept 30.

Christina Boden
Since the formation of the Charity Club 2 years, ago the Charity Club of Pattaya has become a household name.
Malcolm and Christina Boden, along with Vic and Jane King from the Queen Victoria Inn, organise functions throughout the year with all the proceeds going to various charities. To date they have raised 1,159,505 baht.
Many of the needy, not just in Pattaya and the surrounding areas but out as far as Isaan have benefited.

Ingo Rauber (left), director of operations at Pinnacle Hotels, donates prizes from the Pinnacle Resort Samui and the Pinnacle Resort Jomtien to the Charity Gala Dinner Prize draw, to be held at the Dusit Resort Saturday Sept. 30.
The money has benefited the children at the Deaf School, the Wat Pong School, the Street Kids, the Camillian Center, the Free Mason’s Tsunami Appeal, scholarships for underprivileged children, wheelchairs, walking aids & blankets for children & adults in Isaan, bicycles for schools in Isaan, Christmas gifts for the Camillian Center & the children at the Mercy Center.
Not only have we been able to buy items for those in need, we have also been able to help one little girl receive treatment for HIV/AIDS which she has had from birth. Mai came to our attention whilst we were sorting out the wheelchairs in Isaan. Both parents had died from HIV/AIDS and her grandma couldn’t afford to buy her any medication or send her to school.
When grandma asked if we could help, we arranged for Mia and her grandmother to visit the Camillian Centre in Rayong. After the visit grandma was more than happy to sign all the papers.
Mai is now happily attending school and getting regular medication and visits from grandma as well!
The last event, which was held on the 1st of July at the Queen Victoria, raised 59,505 baht for the Mercy Center.
The Charity Club would like to thank all its friends and supporters for all the help, donations and support over the last 2 years.
The Charity Club of Pattaya is now focusing on the Charity Gala Dinner to be held on the 30th September at the Dusit Resort Pattaya. For more information e-mail: [email protected]

Medical bias to PCEC meeting

Very often the Pattaya City Expats Club meetings take on a life of their own. Richard Smith and his committee seek to bring a variety of speakers to the meetings to make the Sunday mornings enjoyable and informative. Recently, on the day of the Pattaya Marathon, the various speakers seemed to be all relaying a general message that had a definite medical bias.

Dr. Bhakhaporn Bhrommai, a neurologist from Bangkok Pattaya Hospital, was the guest speaker at the PCEC meeting on the Pattaya marathon Sunday.

“Roger Rabbit” managed to hop along to the Pattaya City Expats Club meeting at Henry J. Bean’s after he had completed his Marathon Run for charity. Reina Rances from the Bangkok Pattaya Hospital was on hand to see that he was still healthy enough to thank his sponsors and those who had made donations.
After a treatment at one Pattaya City Expats Club meeting and follow-up sessions at the SOQI Massage Parlour on Second Road, John Fishback, along with Tong, talked about the benefits that accrued during that time. Apart from a reduction in his girth John had to admit that with the massage therapy there had been relief to his other aches and pains that he had regularly suffered. This was obviously a practical and pleasant way to recover.
Dr. Bhakhaporn Bhrommai a neurologist from Bangkok Pattaya Hospital was the guest speaker at the meeting on the Pattaya marathon Sunday and surprisingly was advocating that sometimes we tend to take too many prescription medications to relieve the pain rather than doing something to relieve the actual problems that lead to our suffering headaches and migraines. More massage, often self administered, she said can relieve the tension and stress that cause the headaches.
