Residents and visitors roll up their sleeves for Ta Waen Beach cleanup

Larn Island’s Ta Waen Beach is spick and span following a clean-up project that involved local officials, beach vendors, island residents, and enthusiastic members of the public.

Mayor Niran Wattanasartsathorn, who had rolled up his sleeves and dug in, said that this will become a monthly activity, with residents taking the initiative next time.

Koh Larn, said the mayor, is a precious resource that everyone should take care of. Visitors to the island will be surprised at how many clean and clear beaches and diving spots are here.

The cleanup left 750 meters of Ta Waen Beach in spotless condition.

Mayor Niran said that currently the island is equipped with full system of water treatment and waste management. Moreover the city just has received a 2-rai plot of land on the island from a kind-hearted resident on which to build public medical facilities.
