Clubs
The guest speaker at the Pattaya City Expats Club Sunday,
March 5, is James Parmalee, an English educator and the creator of the TEFL
(Teaching English as a Foreign Language) course which prepares English
speakers to teach English to Thai students. It is designed to help the English
speaker understand the problems Thai students will have when they try to learn
English, and to incorporate that understanding with a review of English
grammar in a complete set of books and lesson plans for the TEFL course. TEFL
is the only course certified by the Thai Ministry or Education for such
instruction. A certificate of completion from a TEFL course is a requirement
for most schools in Thailand which have an English language course for Thai
students. Pattaya City Expats Club meets at Henry J. Bean’s in the Amari
Orchid Resort grounds North Beach Road just after the bend. Meetings start at
10.30 with buffet breakfast available from 9.30. Everyone welcome. Further

The Dutch Expats Club Pattaya (NVP) meets the last

Monday’s at Tropical Bert’s (Soi Regent Marina)

now well established as golf day; it starts with free breakfast at 8 a.m. and
ends with prizes and food back at the bar. Please sign up in the bar early as
they don’t want to turn people away. The weekends are sports days
along with great burgers and Friday is good old-fashioned fish and chips, so
all in all Tropical Bert’s is a great place to watch Pattaya and the world
go by.
Power Jam is back at the Moon River Pub &
Restaurant. The band that rocked the Moon River returns with a new singer
and a new guitarist. Rock to the sounds of Power Jam and enjoy exotic and

The next BCCT Eastern Seaboard networking
night will be held at Henry J Beans Bar & Grill on Friday March 11.
The venue is located in front of Amari Orchid Resort, Pattaya Beach Road,
North Pattaya and the event will be sponsored Sallmanns & Panchalae.
Sallmanns is sponsoring selected beverages and snacks on a first-come,
first-served basis from 6.30 p.m. There is no entry fee for members but
non-members must pay 500 baht per person.
Advance notice is given for the Pattaya City Expat
Club’s meeting on March 27, when the well-known world-renowned medium,
Jennifer MacKenzie will be speaking on the topic “Awareness – open your
mind to the other side.” She has been on the Council of the British
Spiritualists’ Association but now lives in Spain where she hosts a weekly
TV and Radio programme. She tours extensively and normally charges upwards of
1,000 US dollars. You can hear her for free at the Pattaya City Expats Club
meeting on Sunday March 27. Book the date in your diary now or be
disappointed. Because of the interest shown in the subject Ms. McKenzie will
