Clubs

Pattaya City Expats Club meets every Sunday morning at Henry J. Beans, Beach Road North Pattaya. Breakfast menu starts at 9.30 a.m. Full breakfast, Thai dishes, or just tea/coffee. Meeting starts at 10:30 a.m. with an open forum and a chance to ask questions, or just relax and meet new friends from around the world. Guest speakers from time to time. Dining

The Art Café Pattaya in Soi 16 off Pattaya Naklua Road offers a wide range of Mediterranean cuisine in an impressive colonial style house, surrounded by a huge garden. Experience dedicated hospitality in the ambience of the good old days. In addition to the culinary relish the gallery as well as a very different house band both are points of attraction. El Coyote, one of Pattaya’s newly created Mexican restaurants, announces its ‘Fourth of July Barbecue Festival’. The restaurant is offering Americans and everyone from all nationalities a varied choice of barbequed specialties in honor of the American Independence Day, on July 4, 5 and 6. The Kiwi Pub & Restaurant is alive and well in Bang Chang! A great Kiwi & Thai menu available along with a large range of cold beers & hot spirits. A pig on a spit or catering for larger groups available, a great spot for Pattaya golfers who frequent the Bang Chang area. The Raj, Pattaya’s newest Indian restaurant has membership cards available to all their diners at no cost. Just bring your name card. This entitles you to a 20% discount on all food and drinks. On top of that, a special drawing is held every week for one bottle of wine with your meal.

Pat’s Pies have moved back to their old premises on 3rd Road. All the usual items are available including weekly specials. Please note their new telephone number is 038 723 302.

As well as all the other outstanding features in the Queen Victoria Inn (Soi Yodsak 6) such as outstanding value rooms, great food, excellent drinks, big screen and free email, the Queen Vic can now offer customers a nice can of cold Blackthorn Cider along with perhaps a packet of Walkers crisps or a trip to the many local and distant tourist attractions in their new executive mini-bus. For those who like tableside flambé, Hans and his team at the Paradise Restaurant offer several sensational flambé dishes throughout July. Including pork fillet with apples and prunes, flamed with Calvados, the drunken chicken seasoned with Mexican spices and flamed with tequila, lamb fillet with macadamia nuts and a mango salsa flamed with bourbon, or pepper steak Remy Martin. A Mediterranean seafood combination, rock lobster or tiger prawns are flamed with a choice of brandy with a lobster sauce or with Pernod and served on a creamy Anise seed and Pernod sauce. Bring your loved one or that someone special to the Paradise Restaurant and enjoy a delicious flambé dinner. Bon appetite. Events

The German-Thai Chamber of Commerce will be hosting another Eastern Seaboard Stammtisch on Friday July 11 from 6 p.m. at the Moon River Pub, Thai Garden Resort. All are welcome to this event! You don’t have to be a member of the Chamber, nor even German to join. Fax your attendance confirmation with name and numbers to the German-Thai Chamber of Commerce on to 02 670 0607.

Pattaya Sports Club will be holding their Annual Summer Party for members and guests on July 12 at the Town Inn Town Hotel. Doors will open promptly at 7 p.m., no early birds. Tickets are required and will be available at the PSC office. Members tickets are free, one guest per member 600 baht. Issue and sale of tickets will stop at 420. As in the past besides a lovely international buffet there will be lots of beer and a variety of spirits, the ever-popular lottery to include that yellow stuff which excites all the ladies (gold) and other sundries.

Entertainment

Join the crowd at El Coyote Yacht Club on July 5 to watch the car race. Yes, El Coyote will have the Big Screen up for the Formula 1 Grand Prix from France and drinks at bargain basement prices. You’ll be able to munch on taquitas, tacos, the best nachos this side of New Mexico and cheer on your team in the elegant surrounds of Pattaya’s newest Yacht Club.
