Clubs

Skål Pattaya and East Thailand will host a Christmas Cruise aboard the fabulous Royal Cliff Catamaran, Thursday, December 5. Admiral Andrew J Wood and Commodore Hertz invite Skål members and their guests for pre-sailing drinks from 4 p.m. for a departure time of 4.30 p.m. sharp. The cost is 750 baht (inclusive of dinner, welcoming drink, service charges, taxes and the joy of sailing). A full bar will be available on board and a buffet dinner from approx. 5.30 p.m. Confirmation is required ASAP so as to facilitate deck spacing and all food arrangements. The Pattaya International Ladies Club will host a special Christmas Luncheon, their final luncheon for 2002, on Tuesday, December 3 from 10.30 a.m. till 2 p.m. at the Royal Cliff Grand Ballroom, Royal Cliff Beach Resort. A full entertainment program will be provided by the children of the Montessori Children’s Center International (MCCI) School in Naklua with a special Christmas around the world. Pattaya Animal Welfare Foundation (PAWS) - approved and registered charitable foundation of volunteers dedicated to providing humane and systematic population control over stray animals. Events

To celebrate the Birthday of His Majesty the King, the Amari Orchid Resort are presenting a Thai and Asian buffet, featuring dishes from around the country and the region. Throughout the evening performances of classical Thai dances and music and songs from the resident band. The evening begins at 7 p.m. Thursday, December 5. Bring the family for buffet or a-la-carte in any of the hotel’s restaurants and dad gets to eat free, plus a souvenir picture to take home. Charity Motorcycle Ride to Trat Prison and Koh Chang, November 29th and 30th. Meet on Thursday night before the event at Hill Beach Resort at 5.30 p.m. on the beach. Leave from the same location the following day at 9 a.m. Call Tom at 01 801 3724 for more information.

This year’s efforts by the Pattaya Gay Festival come to an end in early December, but still remaining are a beach party at Jomtien on November 29th, a gala dinner at Bruno’s Restaurant on November 30, a Walk for Life parade along Beach Road on December 1 (which is World Aids Day), and a final Street Party in Boyz Town on December 2. Planning will then start for the 2003 Festival.

The extraordinary Art Gallery JND, located in Soi Day and Night 2, 20/136-139, Moo 10, South Pattaya will celebrate its Grand Opening on December 7 at 4 p.m. There will be an exhibition of elected artwork created by artists from Phochang University of Art in Bangkok as well as ‘Digital Art’ by Axel Brand - a popular artist from Cologne/Germany. The Glyn Jenkins Memorial Trophy Golf Tournament, at Century Golf Course December 21. The format is a 4 man scramble 5,000 baht per team (carts extra), 1,300 baht singles, includes BBQ, pig roast, buffet and prize presentation at the Camel at 6 p.m. All proceeds to the St Camillus Foundation, Rayong, Home for Orphan Children with AIDS. Cookie still offers free pub grub every Friday night and a now a ‘beer and brunch fest’ @ 149 baht from 10 a.m. Sundays. Nice staff, nice atmosphere and always fun. Exhibitions

Au Bon Coin is holding an art exhibition displaying the works of four local artists: Laemthong Promphan with oil painting impression styles; Chatchai Kaesornchareon, photographs; Jiang Chaejern with Chinese ink mono-prints and Bancha Kijemrej exhibiting literary and art productions of the "Thai elephant crisis". The exhibition runs until November 30. Au Bon Coin is located on Soi 5, off Pattaya Second Road.
