Announcements

Only one week left for the smokers amongst us! From November 1st onwards, smoking is prohibited in Thailand in all public buildings, transportation, in restaurants, movie theatres, shopping malls and cafes, as long as they have air-conditioning. Health Minister Sudarat Keyuraphan said that open-air restaurants are excluded. Penalties for not complying can be expensive: it will cost 2,000 baht for the first offense.

Clubs

The Pattaya International Ladies Club will host their monthly luncheon on Tuesday November 5 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Japan Ballroom of the Pattaya Marriott Resort & Spa. There will a Kimono demonstration by two Japanese Kimono specialists and the guest speaker will Mrs. Kiyomi Tokioka. A Japanese and international buffet will be served. Every Sunday between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. it’s Pony Club time at the Horseshoe Point. Children learn how to ride and to treat the horses. Teachers are there to help. Hhner Hugo is the place to go every day on Naklua Road to get the freshest chickens from the grill. Thursdays are a special treat: pork knuckles and Sundays the famous duck from the grill. Events

Sky Dive City, the official venue for Thailand’s first and only skydiving club and Siam Air Sports, will host their official opening this Saturday evening at 9 p.m. The clubhouse is located on Soi 6, just 30 meters from Beach Road. Drop in, if you’re game!

The Association of Filipinos in Thailand Eastern Region Chapter (AFT-ERC) is organizing another excellent party, the ‘Livin’ La Vida Loca Latin Night’, on 26th October starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Montien Hotel. Karina Gendra and Jorge Real, first-class dancers from Argentina are going to show part of their “Explosion Show”. Starz Diner Restaurant at the Hard Rock Hotel Pattaya is ready to rock the German food and beer lovers with “Rocktoberfest” through October 27. During the promotion, a German menu will be served with Happy Beer Hours from 18.00 – 22.30 hrs. Berliner Bistro and Bavaria Beer Garden in Soi Potisan is a special place to go. Every Friday, transvestite show at 6 p.m. and rock ’n’ roll at 7 p.m. Every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. onwards, musical brunch with original Bavarian music and rock ’n’ roll. Sundays a suckling pig for 10 people and a champagne brunch for 2 will be raffled off.

The Prince of Wales, Soi Khao Noi (Formosa) is really up and running. Pool, darts, cribbage, movies, sports and a better menu. Cookie still offers free pub grub every Friday night and a now a ‘beer and brunch fest’ @ 149 baht from 10 a.m. Sundays. Nice staff, nice atmosphere and always fun. Pay them a visit, you’ll enjoy it.

HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana Kromluang Naradhivas Rajanagarindra graciously presides over a Gala Charity Concert with the Choral Society ‘Young Vienna’.
