Clubs
The International Lions Club of
Jomtien Pattaya, an English speaking club, meets the second
Wednesday of every month at the Town in Town Hotel, Central Pattaya

Visit Marco Polo Chinese Restaurant at the Montien Hotel
Pattaya this month for a variety of tempting traditional classics called
Celestial Chicken with such dishes as Szechuen-style cold chicken, Szechuen-style

Just a reminder that the 60’s Bar, Soi Regent Marina
Hotel, better known as Soi Bowling, North Pattaya, offers 99 baht and 79 baht
breakfast specials on Saturday, plus a regular breakfast menu and daily
sandwich specials. Try the 1/2 pound burger. Rock & roll oldies radio
stations are streamed live via the internet all day.
The beautiful pool at the Chateau Dale Brasserie has now
been completely re-tiled, and new waterfalls have been added around the edge.
Restaurant patrons can now sit around the pool and enjoy a relaxing cool drink
and a sandwich or hamburger, or something more filling. Located next door to
View Talay Condotel at Jomtien, near the corner of Thappraya and Thepprasit

The Australian Thai Chamber of Commerce will host
another Seaboard Sundowners on Friday, July 19th. This event is
kindly sponsored by Transit Maintenance Limited and Garden Beach Resort,
Pattaya. The event will be held from 6.30 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. Cost: 300 baht for
members and 400 baht for non-members. Garden Beach Resort have offered a

The Club Sports Bar in front of the Weekender Hotel
(next to Big C) will officially celebrate their Grand Opening on

On Saturday 20 th
July in Shenanigans Pattaya will be celebrating Landlord Kim
Fletcher’s 46th
Birthday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Heineken draught,
Amstel bottles, Stolichnaya vodka, Gin, Johnnie Walker Black Label, &
Jamesons Whisky will be sold at 46 baht. There will also be plenty of Chef
Sunny’s bar snacks served free to mop up the alcohol. At 2.30 p.m. in the
afternoon on the giant screen the New Zealand vs. South Africa rugby game will
be shown live. Later at night will be some acoustic music followed by rock
DVD’s on the big screen. Sunday sees the Formula One Grand Prix at 7
p.m. live.
The U.K Club has nominated the Camillian Centre for
its charity for the year 2002. To start the ball rolling, they are having a sponsored
walk/pub crawl starting at Soi 6 at the Queen Victoria Inn 5 pm on
28th July and ending up at the Pig and Whistle Soi 7. If anyone would like to

‘What’s New’ from KL, Malaysia, plays
nightly at the Moon River Pub! Don’t miss Mohd Nizam, the lead vocalist! He
already has been the main attraction in various shows in Malaysia and has won
many musical awards! He alternates between ballads and up-tempo numbers with
his most expressive voice! Stop by the Moon River Pub for a visit;
enjoy the music and a free kow tom buffet after you have spent 200 baht!
For those living on or near Soi Khao Noi (Formosa) or Soi
Khow Talow there is a new venue just opened called the Prince of Wales Pub.
It’s a family pub that one would feel comfortable taking the missus and
kids. A full range of beers and spirits plus the usual non-alcoholic beverages
are available. Try some homemade honey tea - hot or iced, it’s delicious and
healthy. There’s a snack and continental menu available at any time. Kanya,
the owner has planned some special events, her current being a Friday

The Mermaid’s 1 will be making Far Island
trips every day during July and August. These trips will be for
shallow coral diving and will be perfect for student divers. These are also
ideal trips for photographers/videographers or anyone else who would like 2
shallow, relaxed coral dives on a large, well-equipped dive boat! Special
for July/August: on July 20th and 21st Mermaid’s will conduct
a diver’s alert network emergency first aid and workplace first aid course,
open to anyone over the age of 14 who holds a current CPR card. The cost of
the course will be 15,000 baht and will include the DAN Oxygen Provider Course
