Clubs

The Rotary Club of Taksin Pattaya meets weekly at the Royal Garden Resort on Thursday evenings from 7 p.m. Call President Peter Thorand on 038422 406 for details.

The UK Club of Pattaya will be holding its next social family event in honour of the Queen Mothers 101st birthday at the Bangsaray Club in Bangsaray on Saturday August 4. The event will take the form of an afternoon garden party...so come on ladies...let’s get those bonnets and hats out. Transport will be provided to and from the venue. Are you a keen bridge player? The Pattaya Bridge Club meets every Monday at 2 p.m. in the coffee shop of Pattaya Beach Tower in Soi 4. Visitors are always welcome and by the way, it’s Contract Bridge – not Auction!

Fancy yourself as a warbler? Then the Seaboard Sound is just the ticket for you. This vocal group meets every Monday at 12.30 p.m. to 2.30 p.m. Ring Colin Throup on 038232 908 for more details.

Reefer Madness Saturday’s from 1 to 5 p.m. at Tequila Reef Cantina with a BBQ combo platter (including chicken, corn on the cob and watermelon) for 75 baht or get ripped on a frozen margarita for only 75 baht, draft beers at 45 baht. Run aground on Soi 7, 30 meters off the beach (free parking available).

Paradise Road on Soi Srinakorn/Regent Marina serves one of the ‘Best’ (and biggest) breakfasts in town! Starting at 55 baht, they serve 7 different breakfasts to suit everyone’s taste.

The Paradise Cafe & Grill is holding a special Summer Delights food promotion until August 2nd featuring delicious dishes such as ostrich fillet with gorgonzola cheese sauce, lamb steak with fresh rosemary, duck fillet with kiwi, and fillet of sole with a chardonnay sauce. Entertainment

The Elvis Pub and Restaurant on Pattaya 2nd Road, opposite the Central Festival Center, will be holding a Live Concert featuring Ritchie Newton, Asia’s only western Elvis impersonator with all the hits from the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll Friday July 20 from 8.30 p.m.

The Warbler 2 Pub and Restaurant is now open in the Baiyoke Hotel. One of Bangkok’s hippest pubs comes to Pattaya with awesome food, cold beer and live music. Rock on down and check it out!

The Green House on Pattaya 2nd Road will hold their Grand Opening Party on Saturday July 21, with three exciting bands and the Green House DJ spinning out some tunes. Special drinks prices throughout the night and a free buffet.

The Moon River Pub again has two new bands. Power Play and First Degree, two extraordinary music groups from the Philippines are giving their best every night. Come and enjoy the atmosphere at this great pub.

Events

Friday 20th July at Shenanigans Pattaya is Landlord Kim Fletcher’s 45th Birthday party. From 6.00 p.m. onwards Carlsberg Draught will be 45 baht (fortunately for Shenanigans as the years roll past Kim doesn’t get any younger) all night long, plus a large selection of free bar snacks and giveaways and on Saturday 21st July sees live the first of the Tri - Nations Rugby Union games between New Zealand and South Africa at 10.00 p.m. on the big screen with English soundtrack. Black & green bar snacks will be served at halftime.

The Bowling Green, between Third Road and Soi Bua Khao will be holding a Charity Lawn Bowls Tournament on Sunday July 22 starting at 4 p.m. They’re looking teams of 4 or individuals to play in this charity event. The entry fee is only 500 baht for the day including the trophies for the winners. All money raised will be going towards the Computers for Thai Kids Project, which not only teaches computer skills to children but also sponsors their education. Certainly a worthy cause. Exhibitions

Euro Design Art Gallery will feature Thai Arts, with paintings by Natikorn Chinyo from July 23 to August 31. Euro Design is located on Thepprasit Road.
