Pattaya Ladies ‘dress to impress’ for Melbourne Cup @ Pullman Pattaya Hotel G

Every year, on the first Tuesday in November, Melbourne hosts the spectacular horse race that stops a nation, the Melbourne Cup. The first ever Melbourne Cup was held back in 1861 and the race has since cemented itself as a huge part of Australia’s sporting, fashion and social culture.

Raegan Phillips wore the most beautiful hat.
This year, the Pattaya International Ladies Club (PILC) in collaboration with the Pullman Pattaya Hotel G decided to get in on all the excitement and host a Melbourne Cup event right here in Pattaya. In line with the ‘fashions on the field’ and ‘dress to impress’ theme associated with the event, over 100 ladies (and a handful of gents) made their way over to the Pullman Hotel on the Tuesday morning dressed in their finest, most fabulous outfits and spectacular looking hats. It was truly an amazing and colorful sight sure to make the job difficult for the judges who would be choosing our best dressed and best hat winners.
The morning started off in great style with a photo shoot, and a much needed cold glass of bubbly for the glamorous attendees. This was soon followed by a resort-style fashion show, provided to us by one of Pattaya’s favorite designers, Louisa, and her wonderful label Regardez Moi. Meanwhile, guests were invited to enjoy a very elegant canapé style buffet that included a live sushi station!
Race time saw the crowd hushed and the volume turned up as we all tuned in to watch the race that in this instance stopped 2 nations, the 154th Melbourne Cup live from Flemington Racecourse. The thought of winning one of the prizes on offer from the Cup Sweep only added to the excitement of the big day.

PILC and their generous sponsors, the Pullman Hotel, Regardez Moi, Breeze Jewelry and Jeff Thomsen leather goods all provided the prizes for the Cup Sweeps. Congratulations to all our winners who won amongst other things, spa vouchers, hotel accommodation, handbags, jewelry, food and beverage vouchers as well as bottles of wine.
The Cup Sweeps, as well as being lots of fun, allowed PILC to raise over 50,000 baht for its various charities. This was a fantastic result and once again the PILC would like to thank all those involved in making the day such a huge success, our sponsors, members and friends.
A special mention and thank you must go to Marc and Daw from the Pullman, and to Louisa from Regardez Moi for helping make the day such a huge success.
The feedback we received from the event was amazing and as such you don’t want to miss our next one which is a shopping extravaganza. The Christmas Bazaar is our next special event and will be held at the Holiday Inn Pattaya on the 23rd November. See you there!

We are the ladies in green and we love to be seen!

Great turn out for the PILC Melbourne Cup celebrations right here in Pattaya.

PILC members and friends show off their ‘fashion on the field’.

Our fabulous fashionistas enjoy the view and a photo opportunity from the Pullman balcony.
