Pattaya to recognize best individuals, community groups

Nominees selected to receive awards for their outstanding service to their communities.

Pattaya will recognize its most-outstanding citizens and community groups for upholding royal values and working on behalf of society at a ceremony this month.
Weerat Joijinda, president of the Kophai Community, presided over the July 23 meeting at the Pattaya Social Development Department where 25 individuals and groups were selected to receive plaques and certificates at an August ceremony. The exact date has not yet been set.
Weerat also led the interviews for nominees in three categories: Individuals following HM the King’s “sufficiency economy” philosophy, Outstanding Individual Contributions to Society, and Outstanding Community Organization. Selections were made by a panel of seven judges.
Of the eight nominees for the sufficiency-economy category, three were selected to receive plaques from Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome: Suphad Thiempool from the Kophai Community, Kaewaring Inthachot from Wat Chonglom Community and Phanoporn Ranghom from the Mabpradu Community. The other five nominees - to be announced in August - will receive certificates.
In the outstanding-individual group, eighteen were considered and five selected to receive plaques: Patcharapon Charoenpol from the Sai Community, Wanna Ngamsuwan from the Naklua Community, Ladda Yangtae from the Soi 5 Thunwa Community, Kasem Juyaem from the Nongtabaek Community, and Kularb Onyangyeun from the Wat Bunyakachanaram Community. Again, the others will receive certificates.
Finally, the Sai Community was chosen as the top outstanding community and will receive a plaque. One other group will receive a certificate.
