Dead foreigner washes ashore in Jomtien

Teerarak Suthathiwong
The body of an unidentified foreigner washed ashore in Jomtien Beach.
Police were called to the beach opposite the Grand Jomtien Palace Hotel June 17 where a dark-skinned man, approximately 180cm tall, was found. He’d been dead for several hours. There were no other apparent signs of injury.
Beach chair vendor Amnuai Lerttanya, 70, said he saw the man enter the water when he arrived at 4 a.m. The tide was very high and waves strong, he said.
It’s not known if the man drowned accidentally or his death was a suicide.
Police are waiting for relatives to contact them, but at press time, no one had come to see police to identify the body.
