An earthen wall under construction at a View Talay Condo building site on Big
Buddha Hill collapsed on June 5, but no one was injured.
The wall on the perimeter of the large condominium under construction on the
road leading up the hill was to have been 100 meters long and up to 70
centimeters wide. The wall would have guarded the edge of a five-meter-wide
road.
The building of the wall was approved by the city but was being funded entirely
by View Talay.
Officials say the road should be repaired by the end of the month, and View
Talay has agreed to cover all costs for the repair.
