Low season is here and the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s
Pattaya office is working overtime to bring people to the city.
Director Auttaphol Wannakij said the Pattaya office will attend travel
shows in Salua and Yogyakarta, Indonesia this month and, in June, will
visit Japan for shows in Sendai, Kobe and Kumamoto.
Closer to home, TAT is working with human resources departments at
factories in Bangkok, Chonburi, Saraburi and Lopburi to arrange “family
trips” to Pattaya during the summer. The local office also is sponsoring
the first-ever U-Tapao Roboman International Triathlon May 24-25, which
will run, bike and swim 50 kilometers from the Rayong airport to the
Royal Thai Navy’s beachfront in Sattahip.
Finally, the TAT office is ramping up for the annual Pattaya Grand Sale,
which runs through the summer offering discounts on shopping, golf and
hotels.
