Drunk builder, 35, arrested for attempted rape of 66-year-old neighbor

Teerarak Suthathiwong
A drunk construction worker was arrested for allegedly attempting to rape a 66-year-old neighbor.
Police found Watcharin Denduang, 35, sitting bruised and bleeding on the floor of Sa-ard Thepphichai’s Soi Potisan home Feb. 17. Medics from the Sawang Boriboon Foundation provided first aid.
Sa-ard told Banglamung police she was at home when a very drunk Watcharin had come to her house, asking to have sex with her. She ran in the bathroom and screamed for help.
Neighbors came to the woman’s rescue and beat the suspect into submission before calling police. She said he’d twice tried to break down the restroom door to get to her.
Sa-ard, however, refused to press charges because Watcharin was a neighbor. He was thrown into jail overnight to sober up and was released.
