Mental patient jumps to his death from Highway 7

An Ubon Ratchathani man recently treated for mental problems died after leaping from a Highway 7 overpass.
Kriangsak Panpheng, 41, suffered a skull fracture and other injuries after getting hit by a bus following his plunge from the bridge Dec. 26. Witness Prakit Saewakan, 37, said he saw Kriangsak climb the 5-meter-tall fence and tried to stop him, but the victim was determined to jump.
Officials at Banglamung Hospital confirmed that Kriangsak had been discharged that afternoon after seeking treatment for sleeplessness and stress. Doctors said he’d received some initial treatment for a mental disorder.
