The Fountain of Life Children’s Center celebrated the year-end holidays
with a party for sponsors who funded the day-care center’s restroom
renovations.
Sisters Joan Gormley and Jiemjit Thamapichai, the center’s director, hosted
the Dec. 18 event, which opened with Lewis Underwood charity chairman of
Jesters Care for Kids, and William Macey, chairman of the Pattaya Sports
Club, cutting the ribbon the 200,000 baht restrooms.
Fountain of Life kids took to the stage to perform Christmas shows and
musical numbers for the sponsors. They re-enacted the birth of Jesus Christ,
did dances from swing to tribal dances, a show in honor of HM the Queen and
a women’s show.
“This event was organized to bring happiness to all benefactors for having
sponsored us,” Jiemjit said. “We are an organization that helps children
lacking opportunities in society in Pattaya and these children are
increasing in number. Hence, we cannot work alone and must work as a network
with other organizations to help these children. We are grateful to the
cooperation we have received.”
The Fountain of Life Children’s Center is a Catholic-backed non-governmental
organization which runs a day center for children at risk and provides
education, health care, counseling, therapy, documentation and preparation
for children to enter government school at 7 years old.
