Four university students won 100,000 baht and one-year contracts to
be the public face of city as part of the city’s “New Look Pattaya”
advertising campaign.
Launched last month, the “New Look” project seeks to rebuild the city’s
image. Educational events at helping tourism-related businesses promote
their offering began in November. Now the city wants to hire fresh young
Thai faces to entice foreign tourists to return to the city next year.
Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome said the promotional campaign will feature four
ads themed “more nature,” “more color,” “more business,” and “more
life.”
Chawanya Thanomwong, 19, a freshman from Kasetsart University’s Pattaya
campus won the bid for the “more nature” ad.
Rachanont Srilabkhwa, 21, a junior from Burapha University, will be the
spokesman for the “more color” ad.
Thonabun Therdtraisorn, 22, a senior from Rajabhat Phra Nakhorn Sri
Ayutthaya, will front the “more business” promotions.
And Pinicha Kijkasempongsa, 21, a junior from Bangkok University, will
handle the “more life” duties.
“Pattaya organized tourism PR activities to increase economic value in
Pattaya by presenting the strengths of Pattaya tourism as guidelines for
communicating with new tourism groups efficiently,” Itthiphol said.
The mayor said new tour packages will also be offered with the new
advertisements in 2014.
