The Commerce Ministry showcased Chonburi’s many factory-made goods
at a three-day industrial-products fair in Pattaya.
Leading Chart Pattana Party MP Suwat Liptapanlop kicked off the Nov.
29-Dec. 1 expo at the National Indoor Sports Arena with Bureau of
Investment secretary Udom Wongwiwattanachai, Chonburi Deputy Gov.
Pornchai Khawansakul and Pattaya Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome.
The show featured six zones highlighting environmentally friendly
products, a Ministry of Industry question-and-answer forum, lectures on
business success in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations zone, a
marketplace for small- and medium-size businesses, and robotics.
Udom said the show was organized due to Chonburi’s predominance in
manufacturing and to give business operators and exporters opportunities
to learn how to expand their businesses.
“The eastern region has many advantages as the largest industrial area
in the country,” Pornchai said. “It is one of the centers for ASEAN
logistics, plus offers cities with abundant natural resources, beauty
and tourism.”
While hundreds of shoppers flocked to the arena to pick up deals on
locally made products, the exposition offered many educational events
for entrepreneurs.
Zone 3’s seminar, “Defense or Offense for Thai Businesses in ASEAN,”
featured lectures from Siam Commercial Bank, Thanaporn Ouaywattankhun
from Young Millionaires, and Pum Panada Wongphudee and Kriangkrai
Kanchaphokhin, owners of an event company ranked seventh in the world.
Zone 4 connected small businesses with electric-utility producers and
the robotics zone also served to entertain, thanks to automated Japanese
imports.
Shoppers also enjoyed a concert from country singer Yingyong Yodbuangam,
Thai pop singer Tik Shiro and string band Zeal.
