Nong Nooch offers 5,000 baht to name new elephant

Nong Nooch Tropical Garden is offering 5,000 baht and an overnight hotel stay to the person who names the elephant park’s latest arrival.
Park Director Kampol Tansajja July 25 announced the contest to name to the birth of female elephant born on Buddhist Lent. Contestants had to submit their entries by mail before July 31.
The calf is the first offspring of 11-year-old Morakot and breeder bull Ningnong, 18. Nong Nooch marked the birth with a ceremony in which nine elephants presented marigolds to the new mother.
