General managers of Pattaya-area hotels gathered again for their “GM Gang” dinner, this time interacting and exchanging business ideas at the TSix5 Hotel.
Chatchawal Supachayanont, general manager for the Dusit Thani Hotel thanked the hotel’s Aco wine bar for hosting the event.
“Each time that the event is held, the welcome has always been great, making the GM Gang well-known and the number of members continuously increasing.”
This meeting was the first for Tatcha Riddhimat, general manager for the Furama Jomtien Beach Hotel. He has agreed to host the June or July meeting.

(L to R) Jitmanee Siravithayavanich (Way Hotel) and Surapan Somthai (GM Eastin Hotel Pattaya) sample the wine over good conversation.

“I also encourage all to advertise the Flower Show on Aug. 28, which is a new activity, and all hotels are also encouraged to participate in the competition… It will be held in the afternoon while at night a bartending competition will be held. We will send cards for all hotels to join in the competition.”
Prayuth Thamdhum, general manager at the Montien Hotel Pattaya, encouraged participation in the Pattaya Grand Sale July 15-Sept. 30. He said the Montien will be one of the hotels offering discounts in the annual promotion.
“The Pattaya Grand Sale will focus on discounts and special promotions from hotels and department stores,” he said. “Last year, only the Central department, spas, golf courses, and restaurants offered their cooperation. This year, we have encountered a better start. This year, we have major partners such as the Tourism Authority of Thailand, VISA International, and Advanced Info Services.

(L to R) Garth Solly (GM Holiday Inn Pattaya) and Richard Margo (Amari Orchid Pattaya Resident Manager) have become good friends.

“If the question is asked what we gain from these partners, we get sponsors. We do not have to pay,” Prayuth continued. “For example, last year, AIS allowed us to make free calls, free text messages or even free multimedia messages totaling more than 2 million baht. AIS will help with the internal markets and this year we have VISA international to help take the project to more international eyes to boost the economy of Pattaya during low season.”
Prayuth reminded everyone that low season is challenging, but with promotions such as the Grand Sale, “our goal is to not let Pattaya have a low season, even for a month.”
Sompat Jantawan, general manager of the TSix5, thanked the GM Gang for attending, informing them that the Aco wine bar is open from 4 p.m. to midnight weekdays and until 1 a.m. on weekends.
“Currently, we have a special promotion from 10 a.m. until midnight. … We want the wine bar to become the venue for meetings of national markets.”
He said the 66 Band and an acoustic jam band provide entertainment.
“In addition, our chef is also highly talented and has cooked for us himself; I guarantee the services.”

(L to R) Sompat Jantawan (GM of Tsix5 Hotel) and Tatcha Riddhimat (GM Furama Jomtien Beach, Pattaya) share their thoughts on the growing tourist industry.

(L to R) Bundarik Kusolvitya (President of the Thai Hotel Association - Eastern Chapter), Surapan Somthai (GM Eastin Hotel Pattaya), Chatchawal Supachayanont (GM Dusit Thani Pattaya), and Sompat Jantawan (GM of Tsix5 Hotel) pose for the paparazzi on the metaphorical red carpet outside the event.

(From left) Suwanthep Malhotra (Asst. MD Pattaya Mail), Sompat Jantawan (GM of Tsix5 Hotel), Dimitri Chernyshev (Exec. Asst. Manager Pullman Pattaya Hotel G), Garth Solly (GM Holiday Inn Pattaya), and Sophon Vongchatchainont (GM Pullman Pattaya Hotel G) share the spotlight with the tricked out cars in the background.

Prayuth Thamdhum (GM Montien Pattaya) knows wine, and is happy to share his knowledge with his new friends.

(L to R) Sittidej Rochanavibhata (General Manager Cape Dara Resort), Chatchawal Supachayanont (GM Dusit Thani Pattaya), Surapan Somthai (GM Eastin Hotel Pattaya), Somkhit Tonsaiphet (The Zign) - Pattaya icons one and all.
