annual awards presentation party.

The Pattaya Mail Media Group won the newly renamed “Best in the East”
media award for the 15th straight year from the Eastern Mass Media
Association.
Chonburi Deputy Gov. Pongsak Preechawit presented Pattaya Mail executives
with the award commending the company’s “broadcasting of news for the
benefit of the society, worthy of praise” at the National Press Day
celebration at Chalerm Prakiat Pavilion March 5.

The coveted award which we
will proudly display in our new office.
Previously named “Outstanding Eastern Mass Media of the
Year,” the award was renamed “Most Outstanding Newspaper in all of East
Thailand” for this year’s awards, which also saw the presentation of prizes
for “senior media excellence,” “outstanding children and youth program,” and
publishers offering training programs for youths interested in media
careers.
“A career in the media is similar to that of a mirror reflecting the reality
for citizens to learn the truth,” Pongsak said. “Therefore, those in this
business must be responsible individuals and must hold on to the media
ethics because broadcasting information or news without ethics or morality,
separation will ensue.”
The presentation of the “Best in East” award covers media coverage by the
Pattaya Mail, German-language Pattaya Blatt and Pattaya Mail Television.

Putting together the Pattaya
Mail, PMTV, Pattaya Blatt and Chiang Mai Mail is a team effort and the
entire Mail “family” deserves to be recognized.
“We did it again!” exclaimed Peter Malhotra, MD of the
Pattaya Mail Media group. “This year we not only won in Pattaya and all of
East Thailand but our daughter publication, the Chiang Mai Mail was also
proclaimed the ‘Best in the North’.
“It is indeed a proud moment for the Pattaya Mail Media Group which includes
Pattaya Mail, Pattaya Blatt, Pattaya Mail Television and Chiang Mai Mail.
“I only have words of love and gratitude for our team in Pattaya and in
Chiang Mai. Your dedication and relentless quest for perfection has brought
us the highest honours, recognized and applauded by the public and media
pundits year after year.
“These distinguished awards go a long way prove that we work very hard to
bring our readers the best in diversity of news coverage which includes,
sports, business, community and human interest stories.

“The award also indicates that our distribution and
readership is vast and that our advertising clients get the most effective
responses when they place their advertisings in our publications and on our
television program.
“I wish our team good health, herculean strength and unflagging
determination to continue to maintain our high standards and help take our
publications to newer heights for the benefit of our company, our families,
our communities and our country.”
National Press Day commemorates the founding of the Reporters Association of
Thailand on March 5. On March 4, 1999, the association merged with the
Thailand Newspaper Association to become the Thai Journalists Association.
