Pattaya is spending 21 million baht to create a market for locally
made goods on Walking Street.
Permanent Secretary Pakorn Sukhonthachat toured the South Pattaya
construction site Nov. 15 with Walking Street community chief Sunthorn
Kangsirikul.
Pakorn said Mayor Itthiphol Kunplome, as part of his “Pattaya Brand”
project, allocated 21 million baht to create a market for the city’s 38
neighborhoods to sell their goods through 2015.
The market will consist of a three-story building, on which the first
floor will be used for product-sales stalls. The second floor will host
a conference room for community and volunteer groups, and the third
floor will be dedicated to office space.
No date was given as to when construction will be completed.
