Chonburi Labor Bank to become online recruit resource for business

Deputy Gov. Pongsak Preechawit presides over a
day-long organization meeting on the Chonburi Labor Bank.
The Chonburi government has joined with schools, public agencies and
employee associations to create a centralized database of workers to
meet the province’s high labor demand.
Deputy Gov. Pongsak Preechawit presided over a day-long organization
meeting on the Chonburi Labor Bank Oct. 24. More than 70 companies
employing more than 5,000 people attended, along with Labor Ministry
officials, educators and representatives from the Eastern Personnel
Management Association.
Gov. Khomsan Ekachai opened the ceremonies, followed by an overview of
the labor bank by Nithat Weeraphot Prasit, director of Bankhai Technical
College.
A seminar on the province’s labor shortage and preparations for the
ASEAN Economic Community hosted by Personnel Management Association
President Viroj Sirijanthanont, CP Global President Peerapong
Sunthornwiphat and Preecha Thonsukan, human resources manager for
Charoen Pokphan Foods Plc followed. EPMA Director-General Sakda Waankaew
closed the day with a comparative analysis of national wages and
bonuses.
Pongsak said the Chonburi Labor Bank was launched to gather and share
information on available domestic and foreign laborers to meet the
demands of the province’s many industrial, import-export, and tourism
companies. The shared-information pool should help lower recruitment
costs for businesses and offer residents more occupational options, he
said.
The Labor Bank will be found online at www.clb.co.th. (CPRD)
