Koh Phangan sees coming tourist in New Year’s season

SURAT THANI, 2 January 2015 — Tourists are still coming to Koh Phangan on New Year’s holidays to attend activities on the island, while hotel rooms are fully booked until 8 January.

According to the President of the Tourism Association of Koh Phangan (TAKP) Vannee Thaipanich, the tourism scene during this New Year’s holiday at Koh Phangan is very lively.

She said that even after the New Year’s countdown event, hotel rooms on the island, especially at Haad Rin beach, are still fully booked until 8 January 2015 as many tourists plan to stay for the Full Moon Party on 4 January 2015.

The Full Moon Party, held every month on full moon nights, is a very famous activity on Koh Phangan that draws many visitors from around the world.

It is expected that tourists’ spending will help the financial circulation and generate significant income for Koh Phangan’s tourism sector, said TAKP President.
