BANGKOK, Thailand – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched the “Vijit Chao Phraya 2025” light-and-sound festival, transforming the Chao Phraya River into a dazzling nighttime attraction. The event opened on Sunday (Nov 9) with a ceremony led by Tourism and Sports Minister Atthakorn Sirilatthayakorn, alongside senior officials, tourism executives, and guests, including Miss World 2025, Suchata Chuangsri, who also serves as Thailand’s Tourism Ambassador.
Running nightly through December 23, the 45-night festival operates from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. under the theme “The Light of Siam, The Mother of the Land.” The event celebrates the grace and legacy of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, with a spectacle combining art and modern technology to illuminate the city’s iconic riverfront.
The festival spans 15 locations along the Chao Phraya River, including major landmarks such as Wat Arun, Rama VIII Bridge, ICONSIAM, and Memorial Bridge. Displays include light installations, projection mapping, laser shows, drone displays, and artistic illuminations, creating an immersive riverside experience.
The event is expected to attract more than 1.5 million domestic and international tourists, generating over 6.2 billion baht in tourism-related spending.
“Vijit Chao Phraya 2025” is part of Thailand’s strategy to promote nighttime tourism, drawing visitors to enjoy Bangkok after dark and boosting the capital’s image as a leading cultural destination. More details are available on the event’s official Facebook page.
