Updates on Thailand’s measures to contain outbreak and destinations outside Phuket sandbox

  • From February 28 to August 24, 2021, Thailand has already administered over 28.1 million doses of vaccines. Of this number, 585,606 doses have been administered yesterday
  • Pregnant woman who are over 12 weeks pregnant can walk-in to get COVID-19 vaccine at 12 vaccine centers in Bangkok from 25 to 27th August, 2021. For more information please call 1516.



  • Successful registrants who have signed up for vaccination at https://expatvac.consular.go.th can direct their queries regarding the vaccination process (problem-solving/appointment follow-up/technical error) to [email protected]
  • Those require digital vaccine certificate after receiving their first dose can now do so by downloading it directly from the ‘Mor Prompt’ application simply by registering themselves on the app

  • Thailand could possibly be first in ASEAN to produce vaccines with the ChulaCov19 vaccine, which has been developed by a team of doctors and scientists at Chulalongkorn University, is now entering the third phase of clinical trials. The research team is hoping that by the end of this year or early next year, the country will be able to start producing its own doses of an effective vaccine



  • As of Monday, 3,578 tourists under the ‘Phuket Sandbox’ scheme had left Phuket by land for the extension areas in Krabi (Koh Phi Phi, Koh Ngai or Railay), Phang-Nga (Khao Lak or Koh Yao) or Surat Thani (Koh Samui, Koh Phang Ngan or Koh Tao).
  • After 7 days in these extension areas, the visitors can proceed to other provinces. The favorite destinations were Bangkok, Surat Thani, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chiang Mai and Chonburi (Pattaya City). These destinations have complied with the pandemic controls required by the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA)  (NNT)
