BANGKOK, 31 March 2012  – Tropical Storm Pakhar with a center in the South China Sea is moving westward and predicted to reach and make landfall over lower Vietnam on April 1, but will not affect Thailand during these few days.

However, another ridge of moderate high pressure from China has extended to northeastern Thailand and the South China Sea during March 31 and April 2.

As a result, the Northeast will experience a temperature drop. Thunderstorms with gusty winds are forecast for the Northeast, the central part, the East and the upper South. Isolated to widely scattered thunderstorms with gust and hail are likely in the North.
