TRANG, Thailand – Crowds of residents in Trang flocked to the city clock tower square on the night of September 7 to witness a rare total lunar eclipse, despite intermittent rainfall.
The event took place from 12:31 a.m. to 1:53 a.m., when the moon was fully obscured by the Earth’s shadow, creating a striking reddish-orange “blood moon” visible to the naked eye. Locals captured the stunning sight with cameras and phones, adding to the lively atmosphere at Nakhon Trang Square, located at the busy Trang clock tower intersection on Wisetkul Road in Thap Thiang subdistrict.
Police from Mueang Trang Station were deployed to ensure safety and smooth traffic flow for the large turnout of spectators.
Despite occasional rain showers, residents remained enthusiastic, watching until the eclipse ended just before 2 a.m. The phenomenon left a lasting impression as one of the year’s most anticipated astronomical events.
