Traffic closure expected for Red Line train construction

BANGKOK, 3 July 2015 – The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) has announced the permanent closure of the Kamphaeng Phet 6 Road section in Bangkok, in order to accommodate the construction of the SRT’s Red Line railway.

The SRT declared the closure of a section of the Kamphaeng Phet 6 Road from under the Srirut Expressway underpass to the 11th kilometre post, to accommodate the construction of the foundation pile and the rail of the Red Line Bang Sue – Rangsit commuter train project from 6 July 2015.

700 meters of the road will be closed permanently from 6am as of 6 July 2015. The SRT is constructing a two-lane bypass road to link together the Kamphaeng Phet 2 and Kamphaeng Phet 6 road alleviate the congestion of daily traffic during construction.
