BANGKOK, Thailand – The Ministry of Commerce has reported strong early results from the “Thais Help Thais: Reducing Living Costs” campaign, with more than 60 million baht circulating through local economies during the first two rounds of the program.
The campaign offered more than 3,000 discounted consumer products across 16 categories at 878 district offices nationwide. Authorities reported that more than 500,000 people participated in the first two rounds held on May 1 and May 8, generating about 60.85 million baht in economic activity. Revenue from the program was directed to farmers and OTOP community groups.
Essential goods such as chicken, eggs, and cooking oil were among the most popular products purchased during the campaign, boosting spending in local communities.
Authorities also warned the public about fraudulent online links falsely claiming a connection to a program called “Thais Help Thais Plus.” The Anti-Fake News Center said scammers had circulated fake registration links and false claims involving government subsidy programs. Consumers are advised to use only official government platforms, avoid sharing personal information or OTP codes, and verify information through official state websites and applications.
