BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul is set to pay an official visit to China from July 16 to 20, where he is scheduled to meet President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Qiang, and Zhao Leji, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress. The visit was announced by the Chinese Embassy in Thailand through a statement issued by China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the visit, Anutin will also attend the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) and the High-Level Meeting on Global AI Governance. The trip will be his first official visit to China since taking office as prime minister.
According to the Chinese government, the visit underscores the importance both countries place on bilateral relations. Thailand and China celebrated the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations last year, during which His Majesty the King paid a state visit to China and met with President Xi. China said it expects the visit to expand cooperation in trade and investment, the digital economy, aerospace, science, education, culture, and public health, and to advance the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries.
