BANGKOK, Thailand – Thai authorities have issued a warning to citizens in Lebanon, as the security situation there has been assessed as high risk. The Royal Thai Embassy in Riyadh urged Thai nationals who do not have urgent reasons to remain in Lebanon to leave the country as soon as possible, while commercial flights are still operating.
The advisory follows escalating tensions in the Middle East since late February, with military operations by Israel reported in Lebanese territory. Areas south of Beirut have been affected, including the Dahieh district, locations near the Presidential Palace in Hazmieh, and cities south of the capital such as Aramoun and Saadiyat. Authorities said the situation could endanger civilians and may worsen if violence continues to expand.
Thai nationals who choose to remain in Lebanon have been advised to exercise extreme caution, avoid locations where attacks have occurred, and stay away from other high-risk areas identified by local authorities. They have also been urged to closely follow updates from the Thai embassy and relevant authorities.
The embassy is asking Thai citizens in Lebanon who have not yet registered their contact details to submit their information through the Thai nationals database for Saudi Arabia and Lebanon at https://forms.gle/ecVjwCSFnZdTR12SA to help authorities coordinate assistance during emergencies.
Thai nationals seeking assistance may contact the Royal Thai Embassy in Riyadh at +966 55 462 2005 or +966 55 798 2002, or through the embassy’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/ThaiEmbassyRiyadh/ and its LINE group.
