BANGKOK, Thailand – The government has launched a nationwide initiative to support mobile grocery vendors, aiming to reduce operational costs and improve access to affordable essential goods.

Deputy Government Spokesperson Lalida Periswiwatana announced that the Ministry of Interior is inviting mobile grocery operators nationwide to join the Thais Help Thais project. This initiative empowers small-scale retailers to serve as key distribution channels, delivering affordable products directly to local communities and remote areas.

The project supports operators through fuel subsidies to reduce transportation costs and by providing price-controlled essential goods for resale at affordable rates.

Operators may register online at https://mobilemarket.bora.dopa.go.th from May 1, 2026, at 08:30 until May 7, 2026, at 23:59. Registration is available 24 hours a day, including public holidays.

After registering, applicants must verify their identity at their local District Office or with village headmen and community leaders between May 1 and May 8, 2026. Additional information is available at all District Offices. The official participant list will be announced on May 12, 2026.

This project is a strategic effort to strengthen the grassroots economy by using local networks to distribute affordable goods. It aims to ease the cost-of-living burden and create economic opportunities for small-scale entrepreneurs in communities. (NNT)
