BANGKOK, Thailand – The government is preparing an additional 240.75 million baht in compensation for civilians and government personnel affected by the Thailand–Cambodia border situation between December 26, 2025, and July 23, 2026. Deputy Government Spokesperson Lalida Persvivatana stated the additional funding will come from the central budget’s emergency and contingency reserve to provide ongoing, comprehensive assistance to eligible recipients.
Of the total amount, 65 million baht will be allocated to the Ministry of Interior, 166.25 million baht to the Ministry of Defense, and 9.5 million baht to the Royal Thai Police. These agencies will distribute compensation according to established criteria. This additional framework builds on the Cabinet resolution of December 30, 2025, which approved 577.3 million baht for those affected between August 3 and December 25, 2025.
The National Security Council has coordinated with relevant agencies and directed them to verify recipient lists, injury and fatality records, and requested amounts to prevent duplicate payments and ensure assistance reaches eligible recipients. Compensation for injured individuals will follow the revised criteria. If a recipient’s medical status changes, responsible agencies must update records to ensure they provide the appropriate level of compensation. The deputy spokesperson confirmed that agencies have been directed to expedite verification and disbursement, while maintaining transparency for all payments.
