BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has attended the 2026 U.S. Independence Day reception and the 250th anniversary celebration of the Declaration of Independence at The Ritz-Carlton, One Bangkok. The premier was welcomed by U.S. Ambassador Sean O’Neill at the event on Witthayu Road in Bangkok’s Pathum Wan district. About 1,300 guests attended the reception last night (June 25), including representatives from the public and private sectors, members of the diplomatic corps, and officials from international organizations. The opening ceremony included a moment of silence in honor of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, and Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha, followed by a prayer and blessing led by the Chargé d’Affaires of the Apostolic Nunciature to Thailand.



Anutin, accompanied by his spouse, then joined the distinguished guests for the Royal Anthem of Thailand and the National Anthem of the United States before viewing a commemorative video celebrating the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Declaration of Independence. Ambassador O’Neill later delivered welcoming remarks and officially opened the reception. The prime minister also joined U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Global Public Affairs Dylan Johnson on stage for a ceremonial toast celebrating U.S. Independence Day. The evening concluded in a warm, friendly atmosphere, illustrating the long-standing friendship and close partnership between Thailand and the United States. (NNT)
