Thailand reaffirms its commitment to a mine-free world, pledging continued efforts in clearance, victim assistance, and global cooperation at RevCon5 in Cambodia.

SIEM REAP – On 25 November 2024, Ms. Pinsuda Jayanama, Director-General of the Department of International Organizations led the Thai Delegation and delivered a statement at the high-level segment of the Fifth Review Conference of the Convention on the Prohibition of the Use, Stockpiling, Production and Transfer of Anti-Personnel Mines and on Their Destruction (RevCon5) in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

On this occasion, Thailand reaffirmed its commitment to fulfilling the obligations under the Convention on the Prohibition of the Use, Stockpiling, Production and Transfer of Anti-Personnel Mines and on Their Destruction on all fronts, including the clearance of remaining anti-personnel mines along the border areas, victim assistance, and enhancing cooperation and assistance in effectively implementing the Convention. Thailand also expressed readiness to cooperate with all parties on humanitarian demining activities to achieve the shared vision of a mine-free world. (MFA)
