BANGKOK, Thailand – Thailand Post is expanding logistics support for the 2026 fruit harvest by rolling out its EMS fruit delivery service to help farmers manage rising supply and distribution costs.
The program comes as fruit production is expected to reach 6.91 million metric tons this year, up 5.8 percent from the previous year, raising concerns about oversupply and price pressure during the peak harvest season. Authorities are working to improve distribution channels so produce can reach consumers more efficiently.
Thailand Post is using its nationwide network to support direct sales, offering delivery discounts of up to 20 percent for members of its customer program. Special shipping rates have also been introduced in cooperation with agricultural agencies, with lower-cost options available for small parcels and bulk shipments.
Additional support includes distributing hundreds of thousands of fruit boxes and baskets through provincial offices, enabling farmers to package and ship goods more easily. Free shipping for participating farmers is available at post offices nationwide through April 30, 2027, as part of broader efforts to ease costs and improve market access. (NNT)
