BANGKOK, Thailand – Thai Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul signed an order on Monday to deport French national Kevin Dimino, marking the second foreign national expelled following a high-profile dispute on the resort island of Koh Samui. The deportation order cited Dimino, a local zoo owner, for aggressive behavior, threats, physical assault, public disturbance, and inciting racial and religious tension among tourists. Authorities stated his reckless actions posed a risk to public safety and violated local laws. The decision follows a Koh Samui Provincial Court ruling that fined Dimino 5,000 baht for traffic violations after he pleaded guilty.
Officials determined that his conduct was contrary to public order, good morals, and public welfare, necessitating his expulsion from the country. Under Section 8 of the Deportation Act, Dimino has seven days from receiving notification to appeal the order directly to the prime minister. Dimino previously had a personal dispute with Israeli national Yaacov Ohayon, who was deported on Sept. 5 in connection with the same conflict. (TNA)
