BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul presided over a grand reception at Government House last night (May 4) in honor of His Majesty the King on Coronation Day. The event, held at the Santi Maitri Building, was attended by senior officials and their spouses, including members of the Privy Council, Cabinet, Parliament, the judiciary, the military, the police, the diplomatic corps, and representatives from various sectors.
Anutin was joined by his spouse, Thananon Charnvirakul, in hosting the formal gathering, which also included Interior Ministry executives and provincial governors from across the country. Attendees gathered to present well-wishes and pay tribute to the King.
The reception followed formal protocol, including ceremonial greetings, the singing of the Royal Anthem, and a tribute performance. Guests adhered to strict dress requirements, wearing formal mourning attire in line with royal guidelines.
Coronation Day commemorates the King’s accession to the throne on May 4, 2019, as the tenth monarch of the Chakri Dynasty. Since then, the King has carried out duties across the country, continuing royal projects and supporting national development.
Royal decorations, awarded for public service and contributions to society, remain an important part of the honors system. The event reaffirmed unity across institutions in their expression of loyalty and respect for His Majesty the King. (NNT)
